The SCSI DataScrubberT gives the SCSI disk owner the ability to overwrite and declassify
sensitive data from any SCSI disk drive. Finally, the problem of moving data from secured
to unsecured environments has been made easy and affordable!
Ideal for anyone who needs to sanitize drives, the SCSI DataScrubberT has no "peruse"
fee and allows for an unlimited number of drives to be declassified. The process capitalizes
on the ability to view all data on any SCSI disk drive, independent of the operating system,
from the first block to the last block on the drive. Any information on the disk can be displayed
in hexadecimal and ASCII on any monitor, and can also be printed both prior to and after the
"sanitation" process. More importantly, our procedure sanitizes all areas of the disk, including
reserved alternate blocks set aside for bad block replacements.
The SCSI DataScrubberT is DIS/DoD endorsed for completely and thoroughly sanitizing any SCSI disk
device to the following standards: DOD 5200.28, NCSC-TG-025, AFSSI 5020, OPNAV 5510 and AR-380-19.
Approval is pending for the Naval Accessed Product List, the Air Force Accessed Products List
and the NSA orange book rating.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
STB's procedure is simple yet complete. Start by entering the serial number and specifying any random
block number on the drive as the verify block. The algorithm begins remapping spare block and
reformatting the drive to remove all grown flaws; then, it begins a three-pass overwrite of the
entire drive with ones, zeros and alternating ones and zeros. After each pass, the data from the
verify block is written to a file for later display and printing, confirming that the data was
actually written. The procedure sanitizes all areas of the disk, including reserved alternate blocks
set aside for bad block replacement.
